FAQ
What is an alert group?
An alert group is a collection of monitors that lets you organize your team around one or more applications. When something goes wrong, everyone in the alert group gets notified, so you're always in the loop.
How does Beepr send alerts?
We’ve designed a handy pager app for receiving alerts whenever a monitor detects an issue. You can download the app for free from the Google Play Store or the App Store.
What types of monitors does Beepr support?
Beepr supports several monitor types:
- HTTP Monitor: Keeps an eye on website uptime.
- Cronjob Monitor: Checks if scripts or scheduled tasks run successfully.
- Webhook Monitor: Receives alerts from various external systems.
How does uptime monitoring work?
Uptime monitoring sends periodic requests to your website or service. If it gets an error response or the site is down, it triggers an alert.
What are the common monitoring intervals for uptime monitoring?
With a Beepr basic account, monitoring runs every 5 minutes. If you upgrade to a standard or pro subscription, you’ll get a 1-minute interval, informing you even faster in case of problems.
What types of alerts does Beepr provide?
We send a push notifications via the Beepr app when downtime or performance issues are detected. You can also integrate Beepr with communication tools like Slack for even more alerting options.
Can I customise alert thresholds and conditions?
Absolutely! You can fine-tune alert settings in the group settings by choosing a priority level for each alert group. This lets you decide how long an issue should persist before an alert is sent. Here are the three priority levels we offer:
- Priority 1: Sends an alert immediately after a failure is detected.
- Priority 2: Sends an alert if the issue is still ongoing after 5 minutes.
- Priority 3: Sends an alert if the issue persists for 10 minutes.
We know you don’t want to be bothered by false positives, so Beepr checks your service every minute. The best part? You decide when alerts are sent, so you stay in control.
Can I monitor server or network uptime with Beepr?
Yes, Beepr can monitor not just websites, but also servers, APIs, cronjobs, and other network services.
